These upstate, NY winters bring bitter cold, dry heat, and make our skin SO angry! In this video, I got some great tips from Amy Snider Porter, esthetician and owner of Spa Cascada in Saratoga Springs, NY. Amy shared several things that we can do to combat dry winter skin.

EXFOLIATE 2-3 TIMES PER WEEK. This will lift dead skin cells to reveal healthy, hydrated skin. It also allows your products to absorb deeper into the skin and work more efficiently.

DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. Our winters are so cold and dry, we need to make sure we’re drinking plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.

ADD HYDRATING PRODUCTS TO YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE. Image Skincare’s line is ideal for dry winter skin. The line’s Waterburst and Intense Moisturizer are both great for hydrating and brightening the skin. The Ageless Pure Hyaluronic Filler is great for adding hydration while feeling lightweight. At Spa Cascada, they’re happy to recommend a hydrating product for your specific skin type.

TRY A HYDRATING FACIAL. It will replenish and restore the skin’s hydration. Spa Cascada has a variety of hydrating signature facials.

APPLY A MASK 1-2 TIMES PER WEEK. A facial mask is going to replenish and revitalize your skin. The Image Skincare’s Vital C Hydrating Overnight Mask or their I-MASK Hydrogel Sheet Mask is perfect for this time of year.

SLEEP WITH A HUMIDIFIER ON. This will add moisture to the air, and help maintain healthy and hydrated skin.

GIVE YOUR HANDS SOME TLC. Between the hand sanitizers and excessive washing, your hands need some love. Amy recommends exfoliating your hands and body 1-2 times a week with an exfoliator, followed by a body butter. There are variety of these products available as part of Spa Cascada’s Pure Fiji product line.

Spa Cascada is a relaxing oasis on Broadway in Saratoga Springs, NY. Their guests’ health and wellness is their highest priority. They offer a variety of spa treatments as well as advanced skincare that leaves their clients renewed and refreshed. A list of services available at Spa Cascada can be found here .
