This week I got the SCOOP from the Saratoga Regional YMCA. I asked Jamal Barrow, the Health and Wellness Director of the Saratoga Springs, NY branch, to give me an easy way that both adults and kids could keep moving while we work from home this fall. Here, Emily, a personal trainer and group fitness instructor shows us ten equipment-free exercises that we can squeeze into our work breaks, or turn into a full-on workout routine. And… she shows them with the perfect form, might I add.
Want a quick and straightforward routine? Set a visible timer, as it states in the video, for 10 minutes. Do each of these moves until exhaustion. Rest the remainder of that minute, and move to the next exercise at the next minute. Add one or two more 10-minute sets for an amazing workout!
Want to have fun with kids, facilitate a little Phys. Ed, or mix it up for yourself? Check out the “Pick-A- Card” Printable here! Pick six of your favorite moves from The SCOOP’s SRYMCA video above and write them on the sheet. Grab a deck of cards and HAVE FUN! Emily further explains the fun variation here!
The Saratoga Regional YMCA is a charitable association that is dedicated to building a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Please check out their website at www.srymca.org for more details on the specific reopening safety policies and to check out the capacity tracker, which easily allows members to check what the in-the-moment capacity is at the branch they would like to visit (currently limited according to state guidelines).
