The Adelphi Hotel is a SCOOP Saratoga partner.
As if it’s not beautiful enough from the OUTSIDE, one peek into the lobby of the extraordinary Adelphi Hotel and you’ll be thrown into the holiday spirit. Trees and wreaths adorning every room. Beautiful garland leading you up the grand staircase. Maybe you’re popping in to check out the festive trimmings. Or meeting a friend for a celebratory meal. No matter what brings you in, I would highly recommend you visiting Morrissey’s Lounge and Bistro, where they’ve just launched their new cocktail menu to kick off this year’s holiday season.
THE BAR MAN TIM IS BACK AT IT
You probably remember him mixing up drinks for us last summer. He’s sometimes called Tim. Or… “The Bar Man Tim”. Or bar manager at the Adelphi Hotel. I call him master mixologist. Continually launching a new menu of seasonal and super creative cocktails, Tim never disappoints. And this holiday season is no different. Whether you’re in a naughty or nice mood, he’s got something for every holiday personality.
It was super fun watching Tim mix up some of his new creations, but it was the “Mull-It-Over” that Won-Me-Over. Check him out in action!
FOR THE SHOW OFFS
The teenage sister of your traditional mulled wine, this cocktail was as beautiful as it was tasty. And he even shared the recipe with us, for those future mixologists who want to really impress your friends with something unique this holiday season.
I was then intrigued, when in his typical over-the-top fashion, Tim busted out a paint brush. And not even a little dainty paint-by-number one. This was an I-MEAN-BUSINESS sized paint brush. “This is for the edible cranberry paint used to embellish the glass of the new Winter White Cosmo.” Oh. I should have known that. Ordered by many patrons during my short visit with Tim, this white cranberry and vodka based concoction had already made a name for itself.
As fun as it ALWAYS IS getting mixology tips, I’m one to order it straight from The Bar Man himself. I want to enjoy a meal, and let the expert infuse his holiday magic. And I’ll venture to guess that perhaps there are many like me, who know their limitations.
